Theme: I shall not die! “So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. . . And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. . . David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the LORD come to me?” So David would not move the ark of the LORD with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed Obed-Edom and all his household. Now it was told King David, saying, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” 2Sam. 6:3-12. Points of Emphasis: The ark of God contained Tablets of stone of the Ten Commandments, Aaron’s rod and a jar of Manna. The real significance of the ark of the God was what took place involving the lid of the box, known as the Mercy Seat. The term ‘mercy seat’ comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to cover, placate, appease, cleanse, cancel or make atonement for.” It was here that the high priest, only once a year entered the Holy of Holies where the Ark was kept and atoned for his sins and the sins of the Israelites. Lev. 16. The priest sprinkled blood of a sacrificed animal onto the Mercy Seat to appease the wrath and anger of God for past sins committed. In the above Scriptures, God was angry with David because the Ark was supposed to be carried by the Levites not Uzzah and Ahio. David was afraid of the Ark when it killed his servant Uzzah, so he dumped it in the house of the Gittite, Obed-Edom. The ark of death had turned to be life of blessings and prosperity for Obed-Edom. Prayer: I don’t know what the devil or somebody has dumped in your life or house as an ark of death, but all that I know is that God has already turned it to be your life of favour and blessings. You will not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD in Jesus Christ name!!! Beloved, we are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ once and for all. Heb.10:10
