By : Danny Hilman Natawidjaja (Independent Integrated Research Team Leader) In the last two years there are scientific controversies around the cultural heritage site of Mount Padang, Cianjur, West Java. If the existence of the ancient building and its age can be verified and recognized further by the world, the site of Mount Padang will be the oldest great monument in the world, the witness of the historical development of the lost civilization. Being scientific is being honest and not arrogant. Honest means based on data and open to various interpretations and different opinions. Not arrogant because a scientific truth is not absolute, the interpretation could be wrong or changed because of new data or new concept. A completely honest research is always right since a wrong thesis does not matter ; because it has proven that the right one is the anti-thesis. Whether the global flood event at the end of YD or at the beginning of the Holocene, was related to the large number of flood myths around the world, or the flood of Noah, or perhaps a great flood that had supposedly according to the text of Platos Timaeus and Critiasnya drown the kingdom of Atlantis, Who Knows ... Perhaps this topic can be explored on many dissertations in the field of archeology, quarter geology or ancient climate and disaster research.
