Muslim rape victims identity, ( especially the most heinous ones), is never shielded from the gaze of the media ( mainstream/alternate notwithstanding). Worse still, the photos of those victims, from their most cherished memories, are paraded around in the false hope that this might jolt this apathetic Hindu republic from its never-ending brutal doze. Why does everyone, (even an RSS chaddi from far away), know the identity of the pregnant woman, whose belly was torn apart by a certain Bajrangi and the dead foetus paraded on his sword, while all of us prefer cloaking our outrage in euphemisms when it comes to privileged Hindu victims? Why cant the same courtesy (another euphemism for dignity in death, which was brutally snatched away from them in their lives) be accorded to Muslims that the privileged take for granted? Worse, why dont Muslim men find it objectionable this brazen flouting of rules with regards to Muslim women? Why did not articles objecting to this vouyerish-spectacle-mongering in the case of Baduan, did not care to explicitly mention the shared plight of Muslim women, or did they?
