My column in Frontline this fortnight is dedicated to Patrick Cockburns very fine The Jihadis Return: frontline.in/world-affairs/rise-of-the-jehadis/article6632703.ece?homepage=true. I consider Cockburns style of foreign reporting far from the 5 Star Journalism and the Embedded Journalism; his is a journalism of the people. I had reviewed his previous book on Muqtada al-Sadr and Iraq in the New Left Review some years ago. My review of that book is not available freely on-line. The Frontline review can be read -- without registration! The book is going to have an Indian edition from LeftWord, which will be out very soon. Will let you know when that is the case. Sudhanva is hard at work on the edition as I type this out.....
