“My name is Yao Beina. Im 31 years old. And I am a singer. ” She was probably one of the few people in China who really can live up to that statement. If you watch Chinese historical dramas, mostly likely you will be hearing her beautiful silky voice in the background. In 2011,she sang theme songs for the hit TV show Legends of Zhenhuan. I watched that show a million times and now all of the songs. I cant tell you how much I appreciate such an amazing voice and the dedication rarely seen in todays Chinese music industry. Yao was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 shortly after finishing recording for Zhenhuan and had mastectomy. After recovery, she decided to go for her real dream of performing on music festivals and live the rock and roll spirit within her by entering The Voice of China. She did not win the competition but she won respect of millions of fans. I dream of being on stage without heavy makeup and costume and just be myself someday. We all saw that girl she talked about and I dont think Ill ever forget your voice. Cancer may have come back and claimed her life but she showed China what a singer is and what a true artist is. May her rest in peace and her spirit would encourage more people to sing like she did. Also whoever gets your cornea will help you keep watching this beautiful world. 姚贝娜姑娘，一路走好。谢谢你。
