#NBA wants JUSUN to end strike The Chairman of Ikere-Ekiti branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Bunmi Olugbade, has appealed to the Judiciary staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) to suspend its nationwide strike. The JUSUN strike entered its fourth day on Thursday. The union had embarked on the strike over the non-implementation of court judgment and subsequent breach of MoU reached on the financial autonomy for the judiciary. Olugbade appealed to JUSUN to suspend the strike in the interest of the nation, while negotiation continues. According to him, the industrial action has made lawyers to be idle while judges are sent on compulsory leave. He said that the hope of suspects awaiting trials were put on hold indefinitely as trials in their cases could not continue. Olugbade sympathised with the JUSUN over their plight, and appealed to government to negotiate and grant their demands. NAN reports that the two main gates leading to the state high court were under lock and key with a placard ``no financial autonomy, no work’’.
