***NIXLE SYSTEM -REMINDER*** ***NIXLE ALERT SYSTEM*** Our agency has been using the Nixle Alert System as a message system that anyone can sign up for free of charge and receive alerts from the Rockaway Borough Police Department on their cell phone in the form of a text message. We have experienced some issues with messages being delivered to you in a timely fashion and are moving to Nixle beginning June 1st 2014. Anyone who wishes to sign up free of charge and receive alerts through Nixle may do so at anytime. The features on Nixle will allow us to deliver a good product to the public and that ultimately is what we are after. If you have friends and family that do not use Facebook or Twitter but want to receive information then this is the way for them to go. This system will only receive emergent alerts such as; road closures, extreme weather, missing/endangered persons or other emergency police related matters. Neighboring Towns (Denville - Rockaway Twp.) are also using this system so you may choose to receive their alerts as well. Please share this message... Nixle information: nixle/
