Love is finding the good in another Rather than searching for the bad, And attaching such assumptions Despite the err in your decision, Leaving no room for discussion. Love is appreciating the precious subtleties In the essence of a gentle kiss, And the warmth of an embrace; Assimilation, accommodation, Making for a successful relation. Love is feeling a glow That you can not explain, And feeling complete When wrapped in each others’ arms, Knowing that we are better together Than we would be apart. Love is to be able to vent and invent, together, Catching each other before rapidly descending To depths of an agonizing isolation, Lifting one another to freedom, Teaching one another how to fly, When you feel your wings are tattered and broken. Love is anything but condescending And abandoning of the heart, Or neglecting of the emoting mind; Rather, it is the election To be present to them, Choosing to nurture the treasure That we find in each other, Imprinting the others’ soul onto our heart. Love is craving another second together, Even when we’re together at the moment, And having one another on our mind, Even when we aren’t together… For love is a strong bond That draws us together, And never wanting to be apart for long. Love isn’t flashy, It isn’t greedy; It is remembering to give of yourself More than to take from another, It is to synchronize Your dreams and your needs With those of the other, And bring them both to life.
