New homes are in the future for 66 dogs, 38 of them seized from a house whose owner is facing a felony charge. The Midland County Sheriff’s Department, the Humane Society of Midland County and Midland County Animal Control officials obtained a search warrant to seize 38 Shelties from a residential property on the Midland/Gratiot county line July 3. Since the seizure, 28 puppies have been born, with more on the way. "This is the largest ever shelter seizure of Shelties in the state of Michigan," said said Michigan Sheltie Rescue organizer and Grand Rapids resident Carol Strotheide.
