***News Release- Shots Fired- Reckless Endangerment*** On January 11, 2015, at around 3:55 am, Utica Police officers patrolling in the area of Arthur Street and Seymour Avenue heard what appeared to be approximately five/six shots fired and proceeded to 1539 Seymour Avenue Avenue. Minutes earlier Utica Police officers had left that location after issuing the resident- Reggie Sullivan an appearance ticket for unlawful noise prohibited. Sullivan was hosting a house party with a DJ that started at 2 am. Additionally it had appeared that the party was breaking up and that people were leaving in an orderly fashion. When Utica Police arrived to 1539 Seymour Avenue the second time they found several spent bullet shell casings. It appeared that someone had reckless fired several gun shots rounds that struck near by homes and motor vehicles. One bullet projectile made its way into a nearby home after penetrating sliding, and dry wall and ending up in someones living room. Police received very little information or no cooperation at the scene. On Monday the city will begin the nuisance abatement process on the owner this residence. The investigation into this matter is continuing. The Utica Police Department is asking anyone with information about this shots fired incident to call at 315-520-0842. All phone calls will be kept confidential.
