***News Release*** On October 22, around 11:30 p.m. UPD Sgt Cucharale was patrolling the area of Columbia St when he observed a vehicle with a brand new snow blower in the back of a pick up truck. The snow blower was not secured and when the vehicle made a turn the snow blower bounced around. The Sgt became concerned about the safety and suspicious that the snow blower could be stolen. Snow blowers are a common target for thieves. The Sgt stopped the vehicle and began interviewing the driver. While interviewing him, the driver said that he purchased the snow blower from a man for $ 50.00. As they continued to investigate, they learned that the passenger had an two open warrants. While taking her into custody, officers discovered that she had a quantity (3.8 grams) of a substance which tested positive as Meth Amphetamine. Under further questioning, the driver became nervous, and started his vehicle and fled. When he did, the snow blower fell out of the back of the truck. Officers went to Lowes and after security reviewed their surveillance system, the learned that someone in a truck backed up and stole the snow blower from the outside location. The suspect was contacted through parole and turned himself in. The suspects were charged with the following: Arrested: John Kaminski (50) Genesee St Utica Charges: Petit Larceny-misdemeanor Criminal Possession of Stolen Property-misdemeanor Obstructing Governmental Administration-misdemeanor Several traffic summons Arrested: Nicole Williamson (26) Barington rd Oneida NY Charges: 2 counts of Petit Larceny-misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance-misdemeanor ***Please note*** All charges in this post are allegations, and those arrested are innocent until proven guilty.***
