***News Release*** This morning, around 1:15 a.m. a UPD officer was partnered with a deputy from the Oneida County Sheriffs office working under the G.I.V.E. grant. They were targeting those known to carry illegal guns. They were in the are of Park Ave and Dakin St. when they observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive rate of speed. The officers executed a traffic stop and during the stop located a loaded .38 caliber Taurus handgun and a loaded Interarms .38 caliber handgun. The suspect were taken into custody and charged with the following: Arrested: Bandr Alfalahi (18) Brinkerhoff Ave Utica (left) Charges: Criminal Possession of a firearm-misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd-C felony Arrested: Aung Oo (18) Seymour Ave Utica (right) Charges: Criminal Possession of a firearm-misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd-C felony Traffic violation ***Please note*** All charges in this post are allegations, and those arrested are innocent until proven guilty.***
