“No Worries” II Kings 6:8-18 Worry is doubt, fear, and uncertainty which lead to suspicions. When we worry our brains release adrenaline into our blood stream. It increases our heart rate, we sweat, we become pale and often times our fight or flight instincts kick in but sometimes we have to stand our ground. When we worry our bodies remain in a state of anxiety. When we are anxious, our bodies release chemicals that affect the nervous system making it hard to concentrate. When the chemicals are released, our hearts become overwhelmed it causes heart attacks and increased risk of stroke. We cannot worry so much that we cannot tap into the Spirit of God. We have to cancel the spirit of worry. We have to be on alert because the enemy is coming. He is surrounding the city. The enemy wants to kill us. In order to be able to say no to the spirit of worry… 1.We cannot allow our carnality to persuade us. We have many imperfections so we have to allow our imperfections to override God’s divine perfection. We try to fix stuff ourselves because we lean to the flesh rather than trusting the King. Under pressure we don’t know what we will do when we allow our carnal nature to control us. Carnality keeps us stressed, burnt out and anxious. When our mindset is with God and we trust in Him and let the persuasion of His will be done, we can count it all joy. Our carnal nature gets in the way of God’s divine nature. We forget what God did for us yesterday. God can see what we cannot see and we cannot see what God can see. We must discover God’s plan for us and freedom from the crippling stress of worry. 2. We must change our response to the issue. What we say to the matter matters. What we say will be what we see. We cannot continually speak to a situation negatively and expect God to show up. 3.We must turn over our issues to God. We have to take all our burdens to the Lord and leave them there. We should ask ourselves… how we should put our mouths on this issue. What Word will we need for our issue at hand? Moses was told to speak to the rock and not strike the rock. Moses operated in a carnal nature and his response cost him his blessing. If we change our words we will change our worth. It is easy to tell what we are worth to others if we just listen to what comes out of their mouth. The mouth has power. What is in your mouth? …Abundance or a cemetery? Some people have nothing good to say. They speak death versus life. They need spiritual mouthwash because their breath stinks. We have to learn to bless the Lord at all times. 4.We have to learn to just sit back. We have to learn to watch the Master do what He does. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. ~Elder Jonathan J. Tilghman @ GNHCM 10:30am 10/12/2014
