CWA District 9 Verizon West Bargaining Bulletin #33 June 14. 2013 On Tuesday March 11, Maggie Bernal a Verizon Customer Operations Manager went too far in her aggressive behavior. During a morning meeting at the Lakewood Yard a Female Officer of Local 9586 was physically and verbally attacked by Maggie Bernal for raising a question regarding contract negotiations. Steve Fogelstrom and other management witnessed this latest explosive attack and did nothing to stop the attack. Maggie Bernal remains employed today! The Code of Conduct and No Tolerance Policy don’t seem to not apply to Management! CWA has filed a charge with the National Labor Relations Board for her action. The Union is demanding her termination. The charge also includes the management that stood silently as she went into her fit of rage. These unresolved actions by management have ground bargaining to a snails pace, as “an injury to one is an injury to all”.
