#NoOrdinaryJob Queenslands front line service received a boost today, with 29 firefighters welcomed to the ranks of QFES at a ceremony held in Brisbane today. The graduates will take their posts at stations in Charters Towers, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Tablelands, Mackay and Brisbane over the coming weeks. Assistant Minister for Emergency Volunteers Ted Malone joined QFES Commissioner Lee Johnson in congratulating the graduates on completing the 78 day long course and welcoming them to the service. “Firefighters tackle a diverse range of challenges and our graduates here today are well prepared to respond to these emergencies,” Mr Malone said. “Whatever the call, I am sure these new recruits will rise to the challenge during times of crisis in our own backyard and beyond. Following the ceremony, family and friends were invited to attend the Queensland Combined Emergency Services Academy (QCESA) at Whyte Island, where the recruits completed their training. *Pictured, QFES Commissioner Lee Johnson inspects the recruits and presenting the Commissioners Dux Award to firefighter Benjamin Carroll
