#NotSangheiliRelated I know Im late, but September 15th marks the 4th anniversary of Halo:Reach, a game that its been called the the best Halo that Bungie ever made by some and the worst Halo game ever by others. For several circumstances I havent been able to play it yet, but Ive seen countless hours of gameplay. But Im not here to talk about the game, Im here to talk about the trailer: To the untrained eye, this is an average video game ad with some real actors. But in fact, its more than that, at least to me. This trailer is better made than the trailers of films with budgets of 200 million. The attention to detail is brutal. If you pay attention, every time you watch it, you discover new things, which makes the trailer look even better and more meaningful. This Its not like other trailers from Halo games, like Scanned or Birth of a Spartan where you can see how Spartans are made. No, in this trailer, the difference is that you see what a Spartan really is, what he or she does. It starts with Kat carrying a MFDD, with enough power to blow up a town, in what possibly can be a suicidal charge, outrunning UNSC soldiers that are probably going to die all of them. Sangheili charging forward at the vanguard of their troops. You can see Noble Team acting like a team (obviously): Jorge providing covering fire, Emile waving at Kat to move forward, Jun sniping an Ultra that was on Kats direction, Carter killing a Sangheili that could have caused trouble to any of them. And then BOOM! Kat is on the ground, unable to move. Thom, unseen until then, shows up, picks up the bomb and moves towards the ship, conscious that it can be his end, which at the end it is. IT IS THAT, the fact of knowing you are going to die, and keep going forward accepting your fate, what made Spartans so special. And Thom is not the only one to die taking lives with him, plenty of Spartans did before and after him: Sam, Jorge, Carter, Kurt... The level of detail on this trailer impresses me everytime and I think its the best trailer ever made. What do you think? https://youtube/watch?v=DKRlWLDWhGI - Gul Quram -
