“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours” (Genesis 37 vs 3). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Bible history tells us that a coat of many colours was worn by the nobles and royals. It was a garment of honour and splendour; anyone who had a coat of many colours was not expected to join in labour; but for Joseph, despite his coat of many colours, he joined his brothers in feeding their cattle in the bush. His garment was indicative of nobility and royalty, but his situation was not noble. Notice that in years to come, Joseph became a governor under Pharaoh. He eventually attained nobility. His situation began to look like what his coat of many colours indicated. Initially he only had a semblance of nobility, but he eventually began to experience it fully in its truest sense. Friend, are you at that point in life where you seem to have a coat of many colours, with little or nothing to show for it? Are you at that point where your circumstances don’t rhyme with God’s word concerning you? Are you at that point where your potentials have not been engaged by worthy opportunities? Hear this: when your circumstances are not in line with God’s word, stay hopeful, don’t give up, don’t lose faith, don’t accept defeat, and don’t lose confidence in yourself and in God. Don’t give up on what God has said concerning you simply because it hasnt been fulfilled. Don’t break your commitment to God on account of circumstances you feel you dont deserve. If you don’t give up, every word of God concerning you shall be fulfilled, and your expectations shall not be cut short. Very soon, everything will add up. For now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears and keep hope alive. Pray With Me: Lord, help me to remain hopeful in every circumstance, in Jesus name!
