Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him......... When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. Matthew 2:1-2, 9 Praying two days ago and this scripture came to my heart. As I reached for my bible to see what God was saying to me. This was the thought I came up with and Im so happy to share it with us. Im sure someone out here needs to see this, especially today. My major focus is on the star. Beloved friends, back in Genesis, when God was going to make a promise to Abraham whose children we are by faith, He used the stars. And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. Genesis 15:4-5 As children of faith, you will agree with me that we are children(descendants) of Abraham thus, the stars God mentioned in Genesis 15. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. Galatians 3:7 When God needed something to lead the Shepherds to Christ, there were no Christians so He used a form of light to lead the Shepherds to the baby Christ. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:14-15 God made the stars as sources of light. God used the stars as a prototype for Abrahams descendants(which we are by faith). God used a star to lead the shepherds to Jesus Christ(as a baby). Today, we no longer celebrate Jesus as a baby in a manger but as a risen King that sits at the right hand of the Father. Therefore, God chooses to use greater lights to lead men to this King. He is JESUS! Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14 Believe me friends, this season is shorter than you know. Its in couple of days and the jamboree will be over. The euphoria will douse and people will have their routines to fall back on. This season is supposed to be a special dedication to the memory of the birth of a King. Well, as agreed by the body of Christ- CHRISTIANS. The bible says whatever we allow on earth is allowed in heaven, meaning heaven honors this season as much as we do. Of course, God is interested in every activity of the believer. This is not my point for today. This is a season when we as believers celebrate God for giving us His only Son to die for our sakes (not that we dont celebrate Him everyday though). This is a celebration of GRACE, but sadly, it is also a season when the enemy snatched destinies and jewels from the kingdom. The euphoria gets to the peak and SONS begin to bow at the enemys gates. Young virgins get pregnant(not by the Holy Ghost). Young and vibrant guys get into terrible things just to feel the heat. Beloved, dont think its a matter of weeks and its over. Lets reflect the light that shines in us this season. Lets guard our kingdom jealously. Preach the gospel of Jesus to someone. Lead them to Christ. Do something that will affect someones life positively and cause the change that will transform his or her life. Let us keep watch and project the plan and purpose of God for this season. Lets make a difference this Christmas. Ladies, it is not compulsory you wear latest designers because of Christmas. Dont fall for the kings delicacy. Guys, you dont have to prove anything to anyone because of Christmas. True soldiers do not entangle themselves with the things of this world. Be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary the devil, walks to and fro looking for who to devour. Selah... As you go about having fun, and of course you should. Show some love and let this be your testimony, that you added to the Kingdom of Heaven. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 My prayer is that this Faithful God who has kept us through 2014 will strengthen us and our families. We shall all celebrate the New Year and many to come in Jesus name.
