:O You have to sit down for this story... :o This is a true story that can be verified by my buddies who were with me. I had planned on heading back to Novi Sad this morning ,but was too lazy to do so. I cleaned up my apartment and pissed around with a few friends. One of my best friends (a Palestinian) messaged me to see if I had time for a drink. I hadnt seen him in a few weeks because he lives in Kragujevac so I agreed to meet here in Zemun. We met in front of McDonalds at 8PM and headed to a little cafe in the walking district. My buddy is dating a Serbian gal who has a Croatian cousin. He was in town so my friend invited him along. We sat in this little cafe discussing life and all the shit that goes with it until they told us to leave at 12AM. We were slightly buzzed after 4 hours in this little bar so I told them to stop into this pekara to buy me something. I settled upon a little pastry item that was stuffed with cheese and ham. We were bullshitting about random things and almost to a little trafika when two police officers with very stern faces approached us. They had overheard our conversation and asked us to show our ID. I was very nervous because police always scare me.. They ask us where we are from and we say : Palestine, Croatia and the USA! ahahahahahahah.. You cant get a worse mixture here in Serbia. My two friends get out their ID while I fumble around for something with my name on it. I come up empty! :O I try to explain who I was and what I was doing here. I told them about my Youtube channel to see if they would allow a bit of slack for being a Serbian patriot. The senior officer says The Palestinian and Croat are fine, but the American has no ID . He pulls out his cellphone and asks me to pull up my Youtube channel. I decide to show them the episode of Prva Exploziv where I was singing Tamo Daleko to maybe tug at their heart strings. It comes on and I start trying to sing it while one of them tells me to be quiet. They watch a few minutes of it and say We were just trying to scare you. We have seen you on tv before ... WHEWWWWWWW!!! I thought I was going to have to pay a big bribe or go to jail till I could produce my documents. The senior officer gave me his card and told me to call him on Monday night for a beer. I told him that I would be in Novi Sad working till Thursday so he told us to come into the kladionica for a coffee. The two officers, the Croat , Palestinian and me sit there shooting the shit about random topics till the lady closes the doors at 1AM! We talked about how insane this situation sounded and how it could be turned into a joke! They agreed that it wasnt everyday that they ran into a Palestinian, an American and a Croat walking down the street at 12 AM :) We made plans to meet up again on Thursday night for a beer in his friends bar here in Munze Konza :) I have two new friends who happen to be police officers! :) There are some good ones out there! :)
