****ON HOW I BUILT A FULL TIME SALON CLIENTELE IN 9 MONTHS**** As an independent salon stylist and as a newly single mom to infant twin daughters - I was BARELY able to fill 1 solid day of work just this last January. I was struggling to make ends meet, and I honestly had no idea how I was going to make it. Getting another job wasnt an option for me... Its now 9 months later, and Ive been able to rebuild my business solidly averaging a steady stream of 15-20 brand new clients a month. I work 4 solid days per week now making a full time income for my daughters and I, and Ive been able to tap into a wealth of new client referrals. I am in a constant flow of abundance when it comes to clients, and the best part? They are all clients that I vibe with. I enjoy them, and I can truly honestly say that I have not experienced one single bad day of work. I am able to connect with every client in my chair at a deep level, which I believe is the ticket to unlocking this magic. I get asked by a lot of other stylists how I was able to accomplish this. Here are just a few of my tips: 1- GET CLEAR ON YOUR VALUE AND STOP BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS ON DEALS AND DISCOUNTS. AKA - STOP COMPETING WITH OTHER STYLISTS BASED ON PRICE! Figure out what your costs are and charge what you need! If youre not able to pay your bills, much less cover your expenses - youre not charging enough. Be brave in asking for what you are worth. 2- DONT BE AFRAID TO LOSE PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY. As you expand your client base, you will grow exponentially on a personal development level. Your confidence will grow, and so will your standards. Dont be surprised if you start to get no shows or cancellations - its the Universes way of clearing your space for brand new clients who vibe on your new level and who are willing to pay good money for the gifts you bring. 3- GET CLEAR ON WHO YOU LOVE TO SERVE. For me, I love taking care of serving people just like me. Open minded women who LOVE change, and arent afraid to express themselves with their looks. Women who want to simplify their hair styling experience. I aint all about trying to get every single person in Utah in my chair. I ONLY serve people who I would hang out with outside of the salon. I ONLY serve people who I am able to be myself around. There is a reason Im not your grandmas hairdresser! (Although I do take care of some of the hippest grandmas out there!) Once you get clear of who youre here to serve - you know who you need to reach out to. 4- BE CONSISTENT AND DO THE WORK! I hustle every day. Whether I am in the salon or not, I am constantly in a state of connection with potential clients and regular clients offering referrals. Im plugged into social media from sun up to sun down (with limits of course!) Dont be afraid to talk to people. Dont be afraid to show off your skills. Share pics of transformations you create, and tap into your community with them. Be available for people to find you. I am in the process of creating a full process with how to do this, and plan on getting a group of like minded people together that have a desire to learn how to do the same as I have done for themselves! If youre interested, shoot me a message, and I will give you more details.
