[OPEN CASTING CALL] Madonna University Film Students are holding an open casting call for their first ever full feature film! Franciscan Center 36600 Schoolcraft Road, Livonia, MI 48150 in the Derry Studios June 20, 2014 | 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm (All actors will be seen if arrival is by 8:00 pm) June 21, 2014 | 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (All actors will be seen if arrival is by 6:00 pm) [CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS] David Johnson - Male, early-20s, reporter for Slingshot Press, main protagonist. He’s incredibly strong willed and has no desire to quit. David cares very deeply for those around him. Has a strong sense of justice and wants what’s right to happen. Father Jesse – Caucasian Male, late 40’s, a priest who offers counsel for David in the worst of times. He gives David his blessing in his efforts. Lorenzo “Goliath” Mandragoro – Italian Male, late 40’s. Main antagonist. Gangster, thug, crime boss, corrupt politician. He utilizes force and his goons to emphasize his power. Evil through and through, except around family. Jessica Mandragoro – Italian Female, mid-20s, David’s love interest, and Goliath’s Daughter. She is his secret weapon, and a double-agent. Is not above playing games to get what she wants. Jésus Mendoza – Hispanic Male, early-20’s. David’s childhood friend, and a child of a rival gangster organization. Jesus is an incredibly kind person who is perusing becoming a priest, however when push comes to shove, he will react. His parents were killed by Goliath, and after Goliath guns down the Lafayette Grande, he is badly injured. LeRoy – Male, late 30’s. Urban Bartender, African American, willing to voice everything Goliath has done to his nightclub. Has a strong sense of pride. Mary – Female, mid 20’s, waitress/singer at Lafayette Grande. She has a beautiful voice and a kind soul. She takes an interest in Jesus shortly after meeting him. Mayor – Caucasian Male, late 40’s. Mayor of Detroit city who is gunned down by Goliath. Police Chief – Male, late 40’s. An officer who pretends to be on Goliath’s side. In secret is supporting David in order to take down the Giant. Tommy Mandragoro – Italian Male, mid-20’s. Goliath’s son, Jessica’s brother. He’s cold and calculating. Loyal to his father. Toothpick Paulie – Italian Male, late 30’s, a mass murderer who is quick to pull out tommy guns and always have a toothpick in his mouth. Shows respect for no one but Goliath. Ralph – Male, 11, young pre-teen paper boy. He sells the Slingshot press articles on the streets, and David’s hidden informant. Comes from a poor background and simply trying to support his family the best he can.
