“Oh King, Live Forever” I write to say, Slums Maloney will continue living after today, because of his works. Here’s my argument. On April 21 2014, Mr Maloney created; he created something that will never go away, not until this earth as we know it ends; something that will remain here after we are also gone from this planet. We are here posting in a Facebook group (a community, a possible book compilation, a work of art) that will continue to give life to Slums. I write to say to someone, look at what could have been taken to the grave. I write to say, no wonder they call the grave the richest place. I write not to Slums, as he left his mark via music, and then this gift of short-story writing that lay within him, that no one knew anything about. He decided to embark on something not knowing the outcome, and good thing he did huh. So I write to you about your plans, and their accompanying fears. How long are you going to be holding onto those plans and not letting them loose and out? I write to say do, to say begin, to say get started with whatever little you have or don’t have, to say stop sticking and get to being industrious and diligent about whatever is on your heart to accomplish, whatever dream, whatever desire; I write to say go set your passion on fire and release you into the earth as tomorrow is no promise. Please note that we were all born with purpose, not just to fill life’s slots of child, student, parent, worker, retiree, etc; but to contribute to our planet in our niches in some way. Have you found yourself yet? Have you discovered your purpose? Isnt anything burning within you? Then I write to say, release your idea, your talent, your gift – and it will make room for you, or at least for some others, if God forbid, life doesnt treat you kindly to see the rewards of your contribution. Kill excuses, stop killing time; kill watching the screens and start using them to get work done; kill the excessive sleep, and start working on your project. Take a page from both Slum and Dr Monroe… get to doing something with yourself and your life. Join the ranks of, “Oh King, Live Forever.
