-On Being a Crystal Child & Aura Racism - The problem with the new age movement is that people are taught to trust and believe everything they hear. The mind, in a desperate and vulnerable state, clings to new beliefs in hopes for something greater and better. Im sure its true that there are dream and astral guides--I myself have experienced them--but how will we choose to see them? Will we take what they say/do as absolute truth, or will we simply see them as beings just like us? As far as the whole crystal/indigo/rainbow thing... I used to call myself a crystal child because of my aura color and personality. But honestly, to put a label on someone is to attach false ideas and expectations to them. Why do we need such labels? They only give the impression that some people are better than others, which isnt true. Just cause you have a certain aura color doesnt mean you need a label, cause the need for the title comes from the need to be special, which comes from the fear to not be special. In my case, I temporarily adopted the label cause I needed confirmation that I would make a difference, which came from the fear that I wasnt making enough of one. Im glad that I came to know Jess and Diego that way, though. Beliefs and events end up leading you beyond those beliefs and events... theyre not meant for you to cling to them as infallible truths. And Ill say--what about people with pink auras? Orange? Royal blue? You dont hear fancy and important titles for them. But arent those colors, too? Okay, I get that those are actually the life color which is the aura color that stays the same... which brings me to another point, the point that our aura colors change with our moods, with events, and throughout life, so weve all been indigo, crystal, rainbow, pink, all the colors or whatever at some time or another. Did you ever think that labeling people by the color of their aura is the same as labeling people by the color of their skin? Its entirely a social construction and its racism. Did you know that theres no genetic difference that marks race? Theres no biological justification for race. And Ill say that spiritual racism is even worse. by Cindy Finefrock
