***On the back of every envelope I send to you there is a sticker which reads, This is not a recession, this is a robbery. You claim there is now a damaging and divisive gap in Britain between those enjoying privileges inside the welfare system and those resentfully struggling outside. If people are resentfully struggling outside of the welfare system thats because work does not pay because you are making sure that work does not pay. You accuse poor people of having a culture of entitlement, when what we do not have and yet desperately need in this country is that culture of entitlement because then, and only then, might people hold you to account for destroying the very nature of work and the contract between labour and pay. With 6.1 million working people and their families living in poverty, all your rhetoric about Britain being for people who want to get on is seen for what it is, just a pack of lies. ***
