At 37, welterweight king Britton was in the twilight of a long and successful career, and in the Toy Bulldog was facing a young, hungry fighter in the infancy of what would be a legendary tenure. Britton was floored three times but saw the final bell under the hallowed lights of Madison Square Garden.
