Subject: In view of security concerns, being a student I am not feeling safe to attend university. Respected Sir, As we are aware of the current situation going on in our country regarding the terrorist activities, the Government of Pakistan ordered the institutions to take proper security measures in order to avoid any mishap caused by such terrorist activities. Due to these out of hand circumstances the security of twin cities, Punjab and KPK are at the highest risk, in view of these conditions following institutes have decided not to resume until the proper security measure are taken • NUST H-12 ,Islamabad • Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), Islamabad • National University of Modern Languages(NUML), Islamabad • Foundation University, Islamabad • Grafton College, Islamabad • COMSATS University, Lahore • COMSATS University, Abbotabad • Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) , Sawabi, KPK Considering the security conditions of COMSATS Islamabad campus no one is comfortable to attend university in these conditions, here is the quick analysis of security measures at COMSATS Islamabad • ‘Walk through gates’ at only one gate with no after plan, we(students) walk through it and it beeps every time but no one seems to care about it. • No boundary wall on the South side (Girls Hostel side). Only fence with no security. • No boundary wall on the back side of Students Café/Cricket Ground. • No emergency exits in buildings. Bus Service is not secure at all, there is a huge threat translated by SP Islamabad Police Asmatullah Junejo regarding the magnetic explosives to be attached with vehicles of students. Majority of the students are living in private hostels near the campus, there are no security measures at hostels and no one even feels safe enough to sleep. How these students are supposed to pay proper attention to studies with all these things running back in the mind. This too should be a matter of concern for the institute. If the higher authorities of COMSATS Islamabad are still of the view that all required security measures are taken and institute is providing fool proof security then please designate a person who will be responsible for all the loss in case of bad happening. As a default case we can consider Rector of the Institute responsible for all the loss in any such bad event. It is my right as a citizen and as a student of your institute to know all the measures taken for security of my life and the name of person who is responsible for all the measures.
