#Opinion President Goodluck Jonathan should tone down in criticising Buharis long jail sentence slammed on politicians when he was Head of State. It is sending a wrong signal. Buharis anti-corruption fight had obvious flaws no doubt. It is what I will describe as the scarce tactics. Nuhu Ribadu adopted it when he was EFCC chairman. Go for the Big guns to send a statement to the underdogs but in 1984, Some politicians who were known not to be corrupt were also jailed. I am a firm believer in the principle of Equity and Justice. It is better to free 10 guilty men than jail one innocent man. Jonathan is supposedly basing his anti-corruption plan by blocking loopholes, strengthning institutions etc. Yes! Understanding the aetiology of a disease is necessary to achieve a permanent cure but in many cases, if you dont treat the acute symptoms, the person will die while trying to identify the source. While blocking sources that lead to corruption is very good, those who have showed signs and symptoms to have benefited from that source should not be spared either. Long jail term is not a bad thing as long as those who were jailed were confirmed to be corrupt, I have no problem with that. The president should tell us how his tactics is yielding more results rather than dwelling on Buhari. How they tackled the age long corruption in the fertilizer and civil service payment system is very good but I am also interested in other areas, what about number of convictions, Fuel subsidy scam, Pension scam etc. The main focus in this campaign are insecurity, Corruption, Power and Economy. The president has the last opportunity to address Nigerians in these areas one on one before the elections. Tell us wetin u don do and wetin u plan to do. Not wetin anoda man do. #My2Cent. #DropsMic Happy Weekend
