“Our Great Hope” Community Visitation Report by Pete Carper For just a couple of minutes I want to report to you the work of “Our Great Hope” community visitation and express how thankful I am to those who took part in this endeavor. Judy, Mary Jo, Phyllis, Shirley, Connie, Cathy, Becky, Austin, Chuck, Elton and Norman, some walked the hills of Star Fort, Sunnyside and Darville subdivisions and others provided support. Some Sundays were hot and raining. But meeting and greeting and handing out or placing on doors invitation packets was completed Sunday August 28th. This was the 6th visitation. Some helped prepare our packets. All deserve great praise for their service to distribute God’s word and to present Jesus’ Invitation to join us here in Church. All homes, between two and three hundred homes on this side of 522 received invitation. The results: Every home on this side of 522 is now aware of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church and has been invited to join us. The Men’s group initiated this program and gave $100.00 for supplies. The Church itself bore no expense except extra Sunday Bulletins which we included in our packets. Elton and I supplied some material. Some Sundays groups as small as 2 up to 5 volunteered for distribution. I give thanks for these Christians servants who remembered Jesus’ words “Who ever confesses me before men, him, I will also confess before my Father, who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32” We ask your prayers that God’s miracles will work through these invitations and His blessings will be upon each of you for your good works in the completion of this service.
