** Out off time ** #HELP!! JOEY - A1023021 @ the Manhattan NY Shelter ** Came in with housemate BETHANY - A1023020 as Strays. He is a loving boy that loves butt rubs, hugs and kisses ** A volunteer writes: You know the phrase dont judge a book by its cover? Darling Joey may look like a scuffed paperback but pick him up, give him a second chance and spend some time getting to know him as I did and hell soon be topping the list of your all time faves! Joeys a little more neglected than some of the other dogs we meet as strays and while his localized skin condition does itch (he loves to rub his poor head on my lap) and it seems there has been some damage to his sight on that side, this healthy boy is by no means a special needs dog. Off-leash in the yard his unerring love of people and gentle, affectionate nature quickly show themselves and when I call to him he comes running over for a round of much appreciated butt rubs, hugs and kisses. Could there be a better or more comforting feeling than having Joey rest his head on your chest and gaze into your eyes with pure, unconditional love? I think not! I adore Joey and hope that soon hell have the family he deserves, one where he never has to worry about being neglected or hurt ever again.
