‘PAMASKONG HANDOG 2014’ APPEAL LLI Christmas Sharing Advisory, Nov. 5, 2014 by Freddie Tividad Tesalona, LLI Executive Director New York City The General Council of Lubang-Looc International (LLI) and the different LLI chapters are again soliciting voluntary donations for the ‘PAMASKONG HANDOG 2014’ – LLI’s annual charity and humanitarian project on-going for 15 years. This is also an special appeal for the more fortunate to share their blessings with the poor. ● MISSION: Donate basic food items consisting normally of 5 kilos of rice, canned goods, coffee, sugar, bread, fruits, etc. during the Christmas season (usually between Christmas Day and New Year). ● BENEFICIARIES: Poor families in the municipalities of Lubang and Looc, Occidental Mindoro, including the seniors citizens and others with disabilities and in dire economic situation. Average recipients a year: 300 ● DISTRIBUTION MODE: LLI scholar-volunteers re-pack the food items and normally present the donations to the recipients by barangay. ● IMPACT: The needy beneficiaries welcome the donations, especially the elderly. “Salamat at naalala pa ninyo kami (Thank you for remembering us),” most of them would say. ● PROJECT COST & TARGET FUNDING: US$1,000.00 minimum. ● PROJECT CHAIR: George T.
