Users of the Tay and Forth Road Bridges are being warned to be prepared for significant disruption in the early hours of tomorrow morning. (Friday 9 January) with very strong winds forecast which would potentially close the bridges. The Met Office’s latest forecast shows wind speeds at the Forth Road Bridge gusting in excess of 80mph early on Friday morning. It is possible that both bridges will be closed to all traffic between around 3 to 7 or 8am, this will obviously impact on public transport, including trains. The forecast shows wind speeds gradually easing later in the morning before intensifying again overnight. Further disruption is possible on Saturday morning. All bridge users are advised to check weather and traffic reports before travelling and to plan accordingly.
