***PRESS CENTRE*** AUTUMN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BAREARSELONA V BAYER NEVERLOSEN Barearselona sent out a commanding message to their cup rivals with a top drawer performance in this Champions League quarter final. The early stages of the game were cagey with both sides trading goals, Aaron of Barearselona was causing the Bayer Neverlosen defence some early problems and laid down an early marker with some neat finishes, at the other end it was Ger Kelly causing problems. At the half time interval, Barearselona held a slender 1 goal lead. In the second half Barearselona were quick out of the blocks with Giggles really getting into the swing of things, he scored a couple of terrific goals on the night. Bayer Neverlosen were missing a number of their most influential players, captain Wayne Condron was a notable absentee. As Bayer Neverlosen began to pour forward aiming to get back in to the game, gaps began to appear at the back and Barearselona exploited this and opened up a bigger lead. A rallying performance from Bayer Neverlosen, in particular Ger Kelly and Mooney, wasnt enough as Barearselona stormed in to the semi-finals. Ross McHugh was exceptional in goal for Barearselona making some top saves, Giggles and Nolan also impressed but it was Aaron who will be the headline maker following a 7 goal performance which saw him named Man of the Match. So Barearselona have laid down a marker in the competition and once again they find themselves in the semi-finals of a major competition, Many people are now backing them to go all the way. This was an exceptional game played by two of our very top sides.
