*****PRESS RELEASE***** Over the last three months, the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, Trenton Police Department and the Eighth Judicial Circuit States Attorney’s Office initiated Operation FAIR WARNING. The operation is an ongoing effort to investigate and arrest individuals who sell, distribute or possess illegal narcotics in Gilchrist County. On September 30, 2014, the above listed agencies along with the assistance of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the final phase of the operation. The operation consisted of a search warrant being executed at 2730 NW 10th St, Bell, Florida (which is located directly across the street of Bell Elementary). ATHENA MARIE BARR, of Bell, Florida, was placed under arrest for the Sale of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) within 1000 feet of a Specified Area (School). During this search warrant, a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances was located on the property. Additional charges are pending at this time. Also arrested on scene was BARR’S boyfriend, OSMAN DAVID MENDOZA-VASQUEZ , of Bell, Florida, for an outstanding warrant out of Levy County for Failure to Appear (No Valid Driver’s License). As a result of Operation FAIR WARNING, a total of eleven individuals were arrested in Gilchrist County on illegal narcotic violations and other outstanding warrants with additional arrests forthcoming. The following is a list of individuals that were arrested as a result of Operation FAIR WARNING: COTY KEITH SHOMBER (WM, DOB: 06/03/1996) of Bell, Florida Charges: Conspiracy to Sell Controlled Substance (COCAINE) within 1000ft of a Specified area (PARK) Conspiracy to Sell Cannabis within 1000 ft of a Specified Area (PARK) Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total of $75,000.00. TIMOTHY RICHARD SPARKS, (WM, 03/25/1987) of Fanning Springs, Florida Charges: Manufacturing a Controlled Substance (METHAMPHETAMINE) Sale of a Controlled Substance (METHAMPHETAMINE) Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total of $150,000.00. RICHARD MARTIN WHITE, JR, (W/M, 01/02/1979) of Branford, Florida Charges: Conspiracy to Sell Control Substance (COCAINE) within 1000 feet of a Specified Area (PARK) Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at $50,000.00. LEONDRE TYRELL MATHIS, (B/M. 09/13/1995) of Trenton, Florida Charges: Sale of Cannabis within 1000 feet of a Specified Area (PARK) Sale of a Controlled Substance (COCAINE) within 1000 feet of a Specified area (PARK) Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total of $100,000.00. CHRISTOPHER JOHN GOLDTHORPE, II, (W/M, 07/18/1983) of Bell, Florida Charges: Sale of a Controlled Substance (METHAMPHETAMINE) Possession of a Controlled Substance (METHAMPHETAMINE) Possession of a Controlled Substance (METHAMPHETAMINE) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total of $285,000.00. TAMMY DIANE HAZELWOOD (W/F, 12/14/1968) of Wannee, Florida Charges: Sale of Controlled Substance (Roxicodone) within 1000 feet of a Specified Area (PARK) Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at $100,000.00. SUSANNA KIMIKO SMITH (W/F, 06/02/1981) of Trenton, Florida Charges: Out of County Warrant (Alachua County) for Failure to Appear (Larceny, Petite Theft) Out of County Warrant (Alachua County) for Operating Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License) Total Bond $4,000.00. OSMAN DAVID MENDOZA-VASQUEZ (H/M, 03/17/1987) of Bell, Florida Charges: Out of County Warrant (Levy County) for Failure to Appear (No Valid Driver’s License) Total Bond: $2,000.00. CHRISTOPHER BERNARD JACKSON, B/M, 01/08/1973) of Trenton, Florida *Arrested on 08/14/14) Charges: Attempt to Sell Crack Cocaine Tampering with Evidence Burglary with Battery Grand Theft Petite Theft Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total bond of $255,000.00. CARROLL DUDLEY BARRON, II (W/M, 11/13/1977) of Bell, Florida Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Possession of More than 20grams Cannabis Cultivation of Cannabis Bond was set by Gilchrist County Judge S. Lancaster at a total of $42,500.00.
