(Part IV) HOW TO LIVE A VICTORIOUS LIFE FOR CHRIST. This is a five part series we have written and is meant to be an appetizer to the Word of God. Many of you have turned from your sins and put your faith in Christ at our concerts or elsewhere and our hope is that this will boost or jump start your walk with Christ. You can find part I, II, and III, in previous post. Part IV PRAY IN EVERYTHING Philippians chapter 4 6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Now that we have repented (turned away from our sins) and put our faith in the cross of Calvary, we are Born Again. We have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus Christ ( who is the blood atonement for our sins) we are now holy and blameless set apart without blemish. God does not see our sin because it is covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus is now our direct link to God. We now have an advocate with the father. This is one of the greatest benefits that come with being a child of God and we should take full advantage of it. Who wouldnt like to have a man of great power on speed dial? Someone who had all authority and would grant our request if he agreed with it. A person who is never too busy to hear our request or to just be the counselor to our troubles when we get weary. Did you know that Jesus Christ is that person? Every child of God has been given that direct path to God through Jesus Christ the Chief High Priest. Did you know that the bible says that there is a friend that is stays closer than a brother to you? Scripture says: Proverbs 18 24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Did you know, that friend is Jesus? Did you know that this friend we have is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Thats how God describes Jesus. The Bible tells us that Jesus is sitting at the right side of God continually speaking to him on our behalf. Thats right! What a friend we have in Jesus. We need to turn the time and energy we spend worrying, into prayer and talking with Jesus. Our God is a big God and cares for even the smallest troubles or request we may have and wants us to pray and believe that he will take care of all our needs. Scriptures teaches: Philippians chapter 4 19 But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. When we pray and make our request known, we should also pray in an attitude of thankfulness, for we have much to be thankful for, having already received Gods perfect Gift of Salvation. In this we can find that peace that passeth all understanding. It is a supernatural peace, that is found only in Christ. This peace can not be found in financial security, the absence of the troubles we all have in life, or even positive thinking. This peace comes from faith, believing that God is in control, and that we have prayed, and now we will trust God in any and every situation we will face. No matter what, our faith is always cemented with the fact that our souls are now safe in the hands of God. That victory over sin is certain, and Christ will raise us from the dead and We will overcome the grave! We cannot be over thankful or over joyful and there is no such thing as praying and talking with The Lord too much. Easy scripture to memorize: 1 Thessalonians 5 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. Never forget that when we are Born Again, it is a spiritual birth, we are Born of God and we are now the sons and daughters of God. In this we have birth rights. We are now heirs to the Kingdom of God. Thats right! Heaven is now our inheritance. Just like children make their wants known to their earthly fathers. We can do the same with our Heavenly Father. But remember, just like all the request or wants of a child may not be whats best for that them, so it is the same with us and Father God. Scripture about gifts from God: Matthew chapter 7 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? In all aspects, prayer should be at the forefront, from every decision to every activity of a Christians life. I have noticed that some people have a strong relationship with Facebook. They post most of their good and bad news, their troubles and emotions and questions, ect. I believe its because Facebook seems to be a living and working community and is an easy way to interact with people. Do you know that God wants you to bring all this to him first? Thats right, he wants it all, the good, the bad and the ugly! Dont you think that the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords has all the answers and is able to handle any emotion or feeling you might have? Our God can handle anything you throw his way. Scripture tells us: Psalms chapter 55 22Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 1 Peter chapter 5 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. My hope is that you will realize that God is very much alive! That he loves and cares about you and he so desperately wants to be the most important relationship in your life. Make the first move towards a better relationship towards God, he promises to move closer to you. Scripture promises: James chapter 4 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Much Love Tank
