*Perfect weekend post. WORTH READING* I jogged past the garden,looking at the scene in front of my eyes. I almost asked them to go home – it was raining hard, and they might catch cold. I stopped myself – I thought my father might be looking at me and smiling. ~~~ I went walking around the flat, and I noticed the chairs were not in their right places – some were sticking out at all the wrong angles, while some were covered in dust. I went on to clean them and put them back in their place – my mother would have been looking at me and smiling. ~~~ I was sitting with her as she went on describing her day in great, irrelevant detail, since there was not much else that we could have talked about after a long, tiring day at work. I held back my “wise” responses and heard in her silences the unarticulated need just to communicate. My sister would be proud of me. ~~~ I sat with my neighbour’s son and chatted with him about cricket and his dog as we waited for his parents to come back home while his wound dried up. I saw the tears in his eyes as he tried to distract himself from his pain. I did not talk about his pain or how he fell down, but was there if he wanted to talk about it. My younger brother would have looked at this and given me his last KitKat. ~~~ I know it’s not Father’s Day or Mother’s Day today, but just because it’s a Saturday, take some time out from your busy schedule and ask them if they want to watch a movie with you. Instead of going out with your friends, sit a few minutes with your sister and listen to her and hear what she says and what she wants to say but does not. Go ask your younger brother to play cricket with you. If you live with your family, be grateful and spend some of your precious time with them, just because it’s a Saturday. Happy weekend, folks.
