Officers said the victim is 54-year-old Christopher L. Cipolla. He was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in a crashed car in the area of 35th and Southern avenues about 4:30 a.m., Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said. Police said a person of interest they had been questioning will be booked into jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Hes identified as 19-year-old Aric Eugene Robinson. Police have identified a second suspect who they questioned late Monday. Horacio Moppin Herron, 18, will also be charged with first-degree murder, police said. Two men were seen running from the area by arriving officers, Martos said. He said police believe Cipolla drove up on the two suspects as they were attempting to break into a building that was being transitioned into a Goodwill store. A police helicopter and K-9 units were called in to help with the search and helped lead officers to Robinson in the backyard of a home in a nearby neighborhood, Martos said. He said there was evidence found in the neighborhood and police were looking to see if there was a tie between that and the man they detained. Martos said the car crashed into a retaining wall at the business complex northwest of the intersection of 35th and Southern avenues.
