In this post you will find a video that was made by Volkswagen and was shown in a movie theater in China. Please take a minute to watch the video as it is only a little over a minute long. It gives a good perspective about how fast a crash can occur if you become distracted while driving. In 2011,(the most recent stats available) 23% of auto crashes involved cell phones. Thats 1.3 million crashes. The minimal amount of time you take your eyes off the road when you are texting and driving is 5 seconds. If you are traveling at 55 mph this equals driving the length of a football field, while blindfolded. Thirteen percent of drivers 18-20 years old ADMITTED to texting or talking at the time of their crash. And lastly 1 in 5 drivers ADMITTED to surfing the web while driving.
