** Please Share ** youcaring/pet-expenses/help-save-dogs-who-have-no-hope/287852 The first part of last week was an amazing here at The Joshua Fund. Due to the generosity of our donors, we were able to raise enough money to pull five dogs from shelters in North and South Carolina. Yes, five dogs did not die because of you!!! More good news, only three of the five were heart worm positive. Why is three dogs having heart worm good news you ask? In the past, all of the dogs that we have pulled from South Carolina have had heart worm. So two were spared. The end of last week, was not so good. First we received word that one of the shelters that we work with in South Carolina was forcibly taken over by the County. I am not going to go into details on this, but in general, when a government entity takes over a shelter, it is usually NOT good for the animals. Then, I received several requests to help pull dogs from an animal control facility in Tennessee. As it turned out, this animal control facility was going to be closed this past weekend for training. Euthanasia training. I am not going to go into detail, but this training is hands-on if you catch my drift. Yes, I know how you feel after reading that. Sickening. So we went to work. We had a few dollars left from the previous fundraiser and we offered to pull 4 or 5 more dogs. As it turned out, there was so much public outcry, that the shelter was overwhelmed with adoptions prior to the training session. Of the five we had offered to pull, three were adopted. We pulled two! The boy in the picture on this post is one of them. The other is a male black lab as well. I will post additional pictures in the next day or so. In the meantime, we need names for these two beautiful boys. Feel free to post your suggestions for names here. Also, as I have said before, WE could not do what we do without YOU. If you have donated, shared, or even offered words of encouragement, YOU SAVED THE LIVES OF THESE DOGS. Thank you, Dan. WE ARE KEEPING THE FUND-RAISER OPEN - we never expected to pull two more dogs so soon so if you can donate for their care we sure would appreciate it! youcaring/pet-expenses/help-save-dogs-who-have-no-hope/287852 #thejoshuafund
