ABUBAKAR-IGP-PIX. 14 Commissioners of police was redeployed mbu joseph mbu was not affected is a pity that the senate can not order IG then we are in trouble THE Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered redeployment of 14 Commissioners of Police to states and other police formations across the country, even as 19 other senior officers are to proceed on a capacity building course. In a statement yesterday in Abuja, the IGP said the move was part of “efforts to reposition the Nigeria Police Force for greater efficiency and better performance in the fight against crime and criminality.” Abubakar urged the affected commissioners to vigorously step up the fight against all forms of criminality in their new commands and formations. He enjoined them “to leverage on the cordial relationship among sister security agencies in their respective beats, to ensure that criminal activities are reduced to the barest minimum.” They have also been charged to ensure that officers and men under their supervision are mindful of the rights of the citizenry, while cultivating the trust and confidence of the public in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities. The newly redeployed commissioners are: Lawal Tanko posted to Borno State; Ibrahim Ahmed, Zamfara State, while Hilary Okpara is the new CP in Bayelsa State. Others are Maigari Dikko posted to Ebonyi, Adebayo Ajileye is now the CP Inspectorate ‘E’ Dept, Force Headquarters, Adebola Adeniji is to be CP Border Patrol, Waheed Salau is CP Airport, Markus Danladi is the new Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri. Tonye Ebitibituwa is the new CP Training ‘E’ Dept, FHQ while Hyacinth Dagala is Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kano. Lawal Shehu is now the CP Admin, ‘E’ Dept, FHQ, while DCP Ibrahim Adamu is the Deputy Force Secretary, Abdul Danwawu is now CP Armament and Salisu Abdullahi is the new CP ‘x’ Squad. In another development six AIGs and 13 CPs from various police commands and formations, including zonal commands and Force Headquarters are to proceed on a leadership and strategic management course for senior officers. The course to be held at the Centre for Management Development, Shangisha, Lagos, commenced yesterday and will and ends on August 23, 2013.
