“Polio could have been eradicated by now if it werent for the CIA,” said Gareth Williams, professor of Medicine and former Dean of Faculty at Bristol University. “The CIA compromised, then violated a professionally sacred role in the way they killed Bin Laden. By forcing a doctor masquerading as a vaccinator to confirm the target, they ensured that a generation of children in Pakistan would be prohibited from getting vaccinated. He said it was seen as a form of Western control and they may never trust Western doctors again. But there are over 120,000 people in the UK suffering from Post-Polio Syndrome and if we dont keep vaccinating, “the tragedy of what was polio in the 20th century could strike again,” warned Williams.
