( Port Hope is The New Elliot Lake !! ) Our town has become a big joke. No leadership whats so ever from a mayor thats as bad as Rob Ford in my opinion & some council members are not much better. Country living look out here we come @ least I will rid my self of 2 bills I will burn my own garbage and run my water from a well. I have no choice I simply cant afford to live in this town any longer My taxes have risen from $ 1485 dollars in the year 2000 to $ 3380 dollars in 2013 My water bill has gone up from $58 dollars every three months to $ 185 dollars every three months My hydro bill has gone crazy with the introduction of the new smart meter I swear Its because the hydro wires in front of my house are so old they have no outside coating left on them what so ever. The town has ripped my side walks up with no replacement They did put grass down 5 inches higher than my own grass They came back and fixed it after I had to make a call to have it fixed They patched my driveway with an uneven hot mix that now pools water in my driveway that I never had before. The snow plow drivers just laugh when they turn the corner and jam my drive way so full with snow its ridiculous The other side of the street has nothing @ all for snow I have had enough of BATMAN LOVES PORT HOPE !!!!!!!!! I just cant take it anymore Its time to move on & no I wont be moving into Ward #2 I cant be the only sinking ship with this problem. There must be many many more people in this same situation.I have to look into the future for retirement. Its has to be now or never or I will be living on the streets next to our pillars in the park Just Like her magistracy says Im MOVING FORWARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
