✪ Portugal - Super Cup - Single Pick ✪ ► Time: 21:45 CET ► Benfica - Rio Ave ► Pick: Benfica ► Odd: 1,70 The Portuguese Champions Benfica Lisbon will meet the Taca de Portugal runners up from Rio Ave at the Estadio Municipal de Aveiro this Sunday evening in the Portuguese Super cup final. This game is the official opener for the new season in Portugal. The previous season fir Benfica was very successful after winning the Primeira Liga, the Taca de Portugal and the Taca de Liga. They also participated in the Europa League final against Sevilla but they were defeated in the penalty shootout. Benfica’s preseason was awful with 6 defeats in 8 friendly games. They got destroyed by Arsenal (1-5) and Valencia (1-3) at the Emirates Cup one week ago. But a good sign could be that they’ve won the last 13 direct encounters with Rio Ave. The club added 11 new players during the summer break. The most valuable signings are midfielders Talisca (Bahia) and Eliseu (Malaga), defenders Benito (Zurich) and Cesar (Ponte Preta), right wingers Bebe (Manu) and Victor Andrade (Santos) as well as forward Derley from Maritimo. On the other hand seven key players like Markovic, Garay, Cardozo and first goalie Jan Oblak left the club. So we will see if Benfica is capable to compensate these departures. Rio Ave played an average last season. They finished the Primeira Liga on the 11th place with only 32 points after 30 matches. The good thing was that they reached the finals in both national cups, the Taca de Liga as well as the Taca de Portugal. In both finals they lost against Benfica (2-0 and 1-0). Their performances in the cup games were way better than in the league and as a result they reached the Europa League, where they’ve eliminated Goteborg in the last round and reached the Playoff round. But that game against Goteborg 4 days ago was pretty tough and they had to go 90 minutes on full power. So it’s possible that the team is a little bit exhausted. But at least they have no important absences for tonight. Even if Benfica played a bad preseason they’re still the big favorite in tonight’s final. Their quality is at least two classes higher than Rio Ave’s. They’ve better and more experienced players on every position. It’s the first official game for Benfica and I’m sure that they aim for another title win. Everything else than an easy Benfica victory would be a big surprise for me. Good Luck! flashscore/match/hrqcpvHC/#match-summary
