(Pre-Empting this asking that you all read this through) Good Morning my Facebook Friends! If youre reading this, Im assuming that you are checking up to make sure Im still passing oxygen through my lungs, and for that, I thank you. With that being said...Im looking for help. And I have a pretty significant network of friends. So, if I owe you a favor, Im calling it in. If I dont, Ill owe you one... On August 17th my wife Jess Curtin-Francis and I will be holding our 4th ANNUAL LIAMS LOCOMOTIVES COMEDY BENEFIT SHOW! (Doors open at 6:30pm, Show starts at 8:00pm. $25 gets you entrance into the show, plus All You Can Eat Pizza!) We have many Raffle Prizes that night, too! (OK...a little background for those of you that might not already know: When Jessica and I found out that our son Liam had been diagnosed with Autism at age 2, we did what most parents then do...we scoured the internet, learning everything that we could, got in touch with who we were supposed to, and we started getting Liam the Services that he needed). 7 years later...after all the help that hes received...Liam can be a sweet little boy. But at the same time, he is a sweet little 9 year old boy that doesnt process things the same way that most of us do. Let me set the stage...Your bank calls you and tells you that there is a problem with your account, and you are required to come in at speak to them. You are scared, so you go in. When you arrive, they are all speaking a language that is foreign to you. What do you do??? Thats what Liam deals with every minute of HIS LIFE! Its truly not that he doesnt understand US...its the WE cant understand HIM! Welcome to Autism... This will be the 4th Year that Jessica and I are hosting a fundraiser in honor of our son. Liams Locomotives (he has been infatuated with trains since before the age of 2), has been raising money to help fund the Research, Treatment, and...someday a cure?...for Autism Spectrum Disorders since his diagnosis. I ask of my friends to do what they can do. If you can attend? Then you have already helped us. If you can provide a Gift Card/Certificate for Goods or Services that you provide? Then you help us. If you can help us solicit donations from local establishments that you may know of? (If this is your category, then please Inbox me and I will provide you with a flyer to provide to the establishment, if they so require). If you work somewhere with a bunch of people??? Why not plan a Night Out! There are so many ways to help us support a cause that is so prevalent in our society, and at the same time, so near and dear to me. (Its Very likely that you have an immediate family member, or know someone on the Autism Spectrum). I will share something that I have never shared publically before: As told to me by my family...if todays standards of testing existed 40 years ago, then Id be carrying an Autism diagnosis. My Mother Janet Russe Francis (Im not sure why Facebook wont let me Tag you here???) has repeatedly relayed to me the similarities between Liam and myself at a young age. Now, I may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch, but I think Ive done ok in life. Thats all We want for Our son. A chance to excel... Yes, I may be pulling at your heartstrings. Shame on me. My heartstrings get pulled every single day of my life, trying to help Liam in his journey through life. Please consider attending the Show if you can. Whether you can attend or not, please consider helping us in other ways, too, be it with a Gift Basket that you can make, or in soliciting donations. You all know me, and I only pull out the stops when it comes to my kids...as Im sure you all do, too. Thanks in advance. I can be reached by private message on here, or via my cell. If youre reading this and dont have either, then please email me at fleetionmedic@yahoo IF youve made it this far, then thank you for reading it to the end. I ask that you will now SHARE it on FB. All of you. :-)
