~ ~ ~ “Precious Memories of Christmas,” (Personal copyright) RLG ~ ~ ~ Yesterday I menti0ned that since the cancer my music and lyric composing and writing has kept improving. I believe that is some from new (or different) nutritional things Ive found and am taking, a lot from people who are still kind enough to pray for my continued health improvement and the music projects, and then the blessings and love of God takes care of the rest. For a very current example, I woke up sometime after five, this morning, realized I had a Big Eye, attack and was not likely to get back to sleep no matter how long I laid there looking at the ceiling. Ive learned to get up, get dressed, and go to the piano, even if its in the middle of the night, for something about always results thats worth keeping. This time was better than usual. I pulled out a number I started on January 2, 2003. The music was relatively done (to be adjusted some, depending on what words appeared in the remaining verses) and one verse was finished except for a few words. Thats nearly twelve years, for less than one verse and an unfinished arrangement. Less than three hours later, it was finished! This is the product. I wish I could share the music, for they go well together: Precious Memories of Christmas Rise up, now, awake! And greet this joyful morn; For on this day our blessed Savior Jesus Christ was born! All thru the ages, men honor His sweet Holy Name. And thru our lives we find him eer the same: So gracious, kind and loving, ever; Thru all our days Hes loyal and true; He gave us the pattern We should follow all life thru. Every year anew, we see the joyful sight: The loving mother, Holy Child, Young faces shining bright. We enjoy the company of folks we seldom get to see, Remembering old friendships and how things used to be. Of our old time memories, The Christmas ones shine out much more clear; And, for just a little while, those times again are near! God, we thank You warmly for every smiling face, And for Your everlasting love, Your mercy and Your grace; And for precious memories of Christmas thru out all our years. They help us face lifes challenges, and dry away our tears. Let Your Spirit be with us this Christmas, And then thru out our days; Guide us, each of them, to show You love, And proper praise!
