"Present Your Bodies A Living Sacrifice" Your body is worthless - TopicsExpress

"Present Your Bodies A Living Sacrifice" Your body is worthless to God if you will not cease having your selfish, carnal, worldly ways. Paul warned that God cut off the natural branches (the Jews) because they failed to conform to His will. God can just as easily cut off Gentiles (you or me). Crucify your flesh. Begin by verbally consecrating everything you have and everything you are to Him. We must decrease. Jesus must increase. Romans 12:1 - "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." PRINCIPAL - "Baptism Is Burial" If you have genuinely repented of your sins, you should be dead to sin. You are determined never to commit willful sin. If you are dead to sins, you should be buried - not in the ground, but by water baptism. Being baptized in water in the name of Jesus means, "we are buried with him by baptism into death." When you receive the Holy Ghost as they did in Acts 2, you resurrect with Christ. Romans 6:5 - "If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection." PRINCIPLE - "God Forbid That We Continue In Sin" Some people are deliriously zealous to preach grace as if God has no objections to our carnality and worldliness. They would have you believe that as long as you confess Christ, only the most gigantic sins offend God. That kind of teaching is pernicious, deceptive, and far distant from the real truth. God forever hates sin, and expects us to keep His laws. It is wrong to teach that God did away with the law. If there was no law, there could be no sin. Romans 6:1-2 - "Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid." PROPHECY - "The Second Death" There are two deaths. One is the death of the natural body - ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Another death occurs when you repent of your sins - death to sin and selfishness. If you fail to repent, the second death will occur when God casts you into hell. You can voluntarily die the second death by repentance leading to the new birth, or God will force the second death on you on Judgment Day (Revelation 20:14). Romans 6:11 - "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
