He said, “We want our national policy to be based on what we know in our hearts is morally right.” We need to reestablish President Reagan’s vision for America –its exceptionalism, and we need to stop leading from behind and promising more flexibility after reelection.*** Next Monday, October 27th will be the 50th anniversary of Reagan’s iconic speech that launched the modern day conservative movement in America — and launched his career, which ended up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I’m quite sure Reagan’s spirit — and that of others – which still linger amidst the White House are quite disturbed with what is happening in our Constitutional Republic. Young America’s Foundation will be releasing a series of videos in remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the speech — this first one is focused on national security, the federal government’s preeminent imperative. Reagan focused on the fight against the “evil empire” of the Soviet Union and the threat of communism. He commanded Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down this wall — and that wall came down. Today we are confronting a resurgent Russia, an emboldened China, a belligerent Iran, and the savage barbarism of Islamo-fascism — and what is our response?
