#ProjectGodlike Q&A -What is #ProjectGodlike?: #ProjectGodlike is a company project involving singer and rappers who will “cover” and perform original songs. By applying the term “coverist” to our artists, we are able to support, nurture, train, and manage them in our own way. Every company has their own program for training their up and coming artists and this is ours: to use YouTube as a platform to showcase covers that both fit the artist’s style, as well as challenge them to become better. Combining the input of public opinion and professional advice will help them grow to become a better artist and make them aware of their fan’s ideas. The goal is to help our artists grow into better musicians. -How did this idea come about?: How do people usually become a recording artist? By auditioning using cover songs! What we are doing, in essence, is taking that process and displaying it on a public platform. This allows the general public, fans, and music experts to comment on both strengths and weaknesses, allowing the artist to grow. Not everyone knows technical musical terms, but everyone can connect to music and form an opinion on how it makes them feel and how they responded to it. In this field of opinions, both types of input will become important to help groom the coverist into the artist they want to be. Those who that create YouTube cover channels have these same goals in mind. -How often can you expect covers to be released?: Currently, we have several coverists we are managing and have a specific cycle of activity for them, whether it be a lyric video, music video, or a simple cover in front of the camera. There will also be creative diversity in the cycle. But just as larger companies promote with a time line, we will do the same. -Will there be any original songs released?: Yes. However, there are specific prerequisites for the artist to meet before the song can be released. -What is the goal of #ProjectGodlike?: To take “Cover Artists” and bring them to the next level to become an official recording artist and make their debut. Working to perfect their craft doesn’t stop after they’ve gained some experience. A proper artist knows they will always be learning, and this project hopes to show them how to improve themselves with the resources all around them. Expressing themselves fully as artists, writing and producing original songs, and creating concepts is the next stage. Coverists that are ready for that stage will “graduate” from being a cover artist to being a recording artist. -Will there be any chance to collaborate with any part of #ProjectGodlike?: Of course! Working and collaborating with other fellow coverists and artists will be welcomed for future projects. Music is universal and meant to be shared with everyone. It is with each other that we grow stronger. There will be special projects in the future, since all cover artists share the same goals. -What type of covers are #ProjectGodlike currently producing?: At the moment, only singing and rapping. Dancing will come at a later time, and there will be an announcement when we are ready for it. -How can I join #ProjectGodlike?: We are not at present holding any open auditions, as we are still in the trial period. However, having your own cover channel with at least one cover song in English, Korean, Japanese, or Spanish qualifies you. Later on there will be an announcement for open auditions, and we will accept audition videos matching the requirements of the audition. -What happens if I get in #ProjectGodlike? What happens next?: Just like any management company, we will be in charge of managing covers, promotions, etc. Further details are explained in the Coverist’s contract.
