*RE-POSTING FOR SHARING PURPOSES* Thank You, FB Supporters and the Media! Much of the success in finding homes and rescue groups to assist with the more than 60 dogs which have already left Buddys Friends (f/k/a Dog Dynasty) has come from networking through social media -- and from the news media itself which has stepped up to put the plight of these animals in the public eye. Previously, both Channel 2 and Fox News ran stories on the dogs at Dog Dynasty, with the Galveston Daily News taking the lead. Additionally, both Fox News and the Galveston Daily News have helped to get a plea out there one more time with Fox airing their story on the news at 5 p.m. last night and the Galveston Daily News running another story in todays newspaper. Reporters Randy Wallace and Shannon Daughtry have kept in touch with all of us for updates along the way and have been essential in helping to spread the word. It is wonderful to know that the animals DO matter to the people in our community, and that their story is newsworthy. The media coverage has gone a long way to reach a wide audience of people who otherwise may not have been able to help by offering one of these dogs a home. Thank you to the reporters, camera persons, and photographers who have invested so much time in helping to spread the word. As we near the closing date of January 10th, much help is still needed. There remain 44 dogs in need of rescue or forever homes ASAP! All of the dogs will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoptions are finalized. Individuals or families wishing to adopt any of the dogs should contact MuttMesh at linda@muttmesh. There is no fee for adoption through that organization. Rescue groups are also welcome - and needed! For those of you who may have missed the previous news coverage, links to a few of the stories is contained below. Please dont forget that approximately 20 of the remaining dogs will be at PetSmart in Silverlake Village (Pearland, TX) today and tomorrow from noon - 4 p.m. Three of the dogs will also be available for adoption at Petco located at FM 646/Gulf Frwy. in League City today only. There are only 7 days left before the shelter closes its doors and there are a lot of AWESOME dogs left needing a place to call home before that time. Please consider opening your heart and home to a fur-kid who needs you!
