“REASONS” At 10:30 this morning I put a posting up with a picture of a table I usually sit at in my favorite coffee shop that I frequent almost every morning, I said in that posting that the Lord would choose someone for me to share His Word with this morning there and as always the Lord is always faithful and true to our requests of witnessing to the world. On the way to the restaurant my little grandson held hands in the car asking the Lord to honor my posting. As I sat there this morning reading “The daily bread” no one came to sit with me, as I got up from the table a friend I have know for 20 some years asked me if I wanted to step outside with him and I immediately thanked God for my friend, as we talked outside I asked to my friend if he remembered telling me of how he was raised in church when he was a child and how was it as he grew up that he didn’t come to the lord in repentance and serve him, His reply was the reason many people use when approached about the Lord, Why is it that many people die around the world violently, a typical excuse people use to live their life in sin, His wife divorced him years ago and recently his mother, father and sister passed away and physically at 40 something he has serious health issues, in the past he and I drank much whiskey and smoked 100’s of joints together and even though he sees the change in me he still thinks of me as the old Tom. Sometimes it’s a difficult thing to witness to family and friends and this morning I learned a valuable lesson as to why I put up my previous posting, a devoted and faithful child of God must always be ready to present the gospel in asking the Lord “Use me Lord”, we must not cringe and back off from witnessing even when we sense they do not want to hear it, we cannot prevent anyone from rejecting Christ but as we look at the lives of Paul and the apostle they never indulged in vain conversations and they were adamant in spreading the gospel to all they me to all, we may be frowned at, ridiculed and talked about with slurs but one day we will be seeked for in times of distress to those who rejected our words, Praise God for loving us and choosing us to follow in the footsteps of those who went before us.
