* * * RESCUE GROUPS PLEASE READ SHELTER RULES * * * Many rescuers have been placing Web Interest holds on the shelters animals after theyre already available to the public and on the Adoptable Pets section of Pet Harbor. The web interests (also known to rescuers as CTA or IP) have to be placed on the animals while theyre on the Lost section of Pet Harbor and not available to the public yet. For example, there were 3 dogs who had been at the shelter for almost 3 weeks. One dog had 7 people interested - another had 3 - and another had 5. However, these rescuers placed the Interest on the dogs after they were available to the public. Although the shelter has given rescue groups more time to network many animals, the rescuers are still not sending in their pull requests and then calling the shelter to pay for the pull fee. This is the only way that the dogs can be safe and finally leave the shelter. By not following procedures, the shelter has no way of knowing of true interests on any animal. There are always several dogs at the shelter who need extra help. Please look at our dogs with the title headings that say VERY URGENT. Also check on petharbor If you do not see a listing for a dog that youre interested in, please contact the shelter ASAP. Please call 951-413-3788 or 951-413-3790. If a shelter representative doesnt call you after your pull request has been approved, please call them ASAP to pay the pull fee. Please do not assume that the dogs listed here as VERY URGENT are being put to sleep. Some may need to go to rescue groups only due to behavior, several dogs are harder to adopt due to medical issues and others have been at the shelter longer than normal.
